A rare large priests club ‘Kinikini’

Carved from a single piece of wood probably ‘nokonoko' .Ancient bone inlay to the butt end.

It is thought that these were held by hierarchical individuals in battle as a form of insignia or standard and were used as a parrying weapon to deflect spears and missiles.
The ‘eye’ motif on this club would signify that it had become named and the ‘vessel' for certain Gods.
